Wanna Be A Rock Star?

The Beginning of a Career

Welcome to my website about online guitar lessons. The Internet has come a long way in the last few years and technology developments have made it possible for webmasters to offer educational programs so we all can learn things without ever leaving home.

The development of multimedia has made it possible to create online courses such as guitar learning programs that not only present the necessary material, but with video, do it in a way that is much easier to learn and for some, much more successful than traditional instruction. In the following articles I will be presenting you with several online guitar instruction programs, any of which could teach you to play the guitar. Look at each one and decide which would work best for you. Good luck and happy picking.

Video Guitar Lessons

Video Is King!

If you have made it this far I will assume you have decided to seek a good online guitar program instead of hiring a teacher to go to on a weekly basis, live in person.

There are several advantages to learning how to play the guitar online. First it saves you money. Weekly guitar lessons will cost you $80-$200 a month, or $960-$2400 a year. That's quite an investment. Online guitar programs range from $12.95 up to almost $100. And it's a one time charge. That's quite a difference in price. Plus, once you have purchased the program it is yours to keep. Nobody can take it away from you and you can use it as many times as you want to.

When you are looking for an online guitar program, one good rule to use consistently is the demo rule. When you pull up a website offering online guitar instruction, look first for a demonstration video that will give you a sample of the way the lessons will be presented. If there is none, go to the next site. The lessons may be good, but if they are not willing to give you a free example of their lessons then you have no way of knowing if the website and it's lessons will work for you.

In fact, I recommend that if they do not have video lessons, keep looking. Once you purchase the program, you need to be able to watch the lesson over and over until you understand it. Many of us are visual learners and video really helps with understanding the material. Plus, most people are very busy and have a million things going on in their lives. It's just the nature of the beast these days. Online video lessons let you learn on your own terms. You can play the lesson when you want to and repeat it as often as you need to at no additional charge.

Create A Structure For Learning

One of the few disadvantages to online guitar instruction is that there is no one else there to motivate you. There is no teacher in front of you to encourage you and help you through the bumps in the road. Many of us are famous for buying something and then just looking at it until we sell it or give it away. If you think you might do that, then forget online lessons. But if you are serious about going this route, you alone, will be responsible for watching the videos, understanding the lessons and practicing.

Becoming a good guitarist takes practice, lots of practice. Let me say that one more time, lots of practice! If you are serious about learning guitar online, then you need a good plan. Think about projects you have been involved with in the past. Historically, do you usually get things done with no one looking over your shoulder, or are you the type that needs someone or something to motivate you? If you fall into the latter group, then wake up. You are going to need a really good plan.

You are going to need to involve friends, family or others to help keep you motivated if you are going to be successful in this new venture. First, create a routine, a structure. Decide where and when you will watch the videos and where you will practice. Set up a comfortable area where you will not be distracted. Decide what day of the week, what time and how many days you will work on learning to play the guitar.

If you can only do it one day a week, that is fine. But do not vary from that. Stick to it. If you can only do it on Saturday at 3:00 P.M., then make sure you do it every Saturday at 3:00 P.M. Do not waiver from this schedule. Ask a friend to call and check on you every Saturday to make sure you are doing it.

Make this commitment with your self and honor that commitment. Someday when others are admiring your virtuosity on the guitar you will be so glad you went to all the trouble.

Take a minute to look through the great online guitar programs bellow. The Scale Mastery System

Very few scale learning methods out there help you learn the five essential mastery skills in an organized and structured way! They make it way too hard and frustrating for you...

* They overwhelm you with ridiculous amounts of scale fingerings to learn.
* They tell you to memorize the scale fingerings but don't actually show you how.
* They tell you to learn things in all 12 keys. (This advice is often B.S. and quickly leads to overwhelm for most people).
* They get you to move onto new scales well before you have mastered the old ones.
* They tell you "what to learn", but don't actually tell you "how to learn" it.

You get the idea. They are throwing "learning hurdles" in your way which slows down your progress. How dare them! That's why we created the Scale Mastery System. Get it today. It will change your playing as it changes your life!

Go here to visit the websites of the above programs and to choose the one you want. You will find a link there to bring you back here. Have fun!
